Condemnation Tried Here on the stand With the book in my hand And truth on my side. Accusations Lies Hand me my sentence I'll show no repentance I'll suffer with pride. If for honesty You want apologies I don't sympathize If for kindness You substitute blindness Please open your eyes. Condemnation Why Because my duty Was always to beauty And that was my crime. Feel elation High To know I can trust this Fix of injustice Time after time.

The new, and tenth, Depeche Mode album "Songs Of Faith And Devotion" is one of the most eagerly awaited albums of 1993. Their last album "Violator" was their most successful to date and after the tour finished, playing to 1,200,000 people over eight months, the group decided to take a one year sabbatical. It took the young Essex group only three weeks to record their first album, "Speak And Spell", in 1981. A few of the songs on the new album have a sort of gospel feel. One of them," Condemnation", is a particular favourite of David Gahan. I think that's the best lyrics and melody I've ever been given to sing and the best vocal I've ever sung", he affirms. I wish I could have written i. Other group members are full of praise for his performance of this and other songs on the album. With this record we've tried to make David sing in a different way," Alan explains.

The discography of English electronic music group Depeche Mode consists of 14 studio albums, six live albums, ten compilation albums, 12 box sets, 13 video albums, 55 singles and 70 music videos. The band's music has been released on several labels, including Some Bizzare, Mute Records, Sire Records, Reprise Records, and Columbia Records.

On the remix side of things, two separate versions of Songs album track "Rush" appear. Though the song suffers from being a fairly obvious response back to the clearly Depeche-influenced Nine Inch Nails, as remixed there's more going on than before. Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto does a fantastic job with the "Spiritual Guidance" mix, introducing his own brand of funky, heavy beats to the arrangement.

Condemnation is a song by Depeche Mode, released as the group’s twenty-ninth UK single on 13 September 1993 (14 September in the US), and the third single from their album Songs of Faith and Devotion. The song reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart. Condemnation is a gospel-esque song with a rock twist. The 7" version is the Paris Mix, with female backing vocals added and an emerging drum beat scheme. Band members indicated that this song normally would have been sung by Martin Gore, but Dave Gahan insisted on singing it instead.

Ultra is the ninth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was released on 14 April 1997 by Mute Records. It was the band's first album following the departure of Alan Wilder, who had become disillusioned with life in the band. Wilder's departure and lead singer Dave Gahan's drug problems, which culminated in a near-fatal overdose, had caused speculation that Depeche Mode was finished.
