Self-released in 1978, in a pressing limited to 200 copies, Orange's sole LP In the Midst of Chaos originally went by unnoticed. It was reissued 30 years later by the small imprint De Stijl. Why? In the interim, one of the group's members has become a strong voice in the world of American free improvisation of the ecstatic variety (or hardcore freeform, if you prefer that tag): saxman Paul Flaherty. And this was his first-ever recording session and release. Are fans going to hear him in a strikingly different context? Maybe doing a little mainstream jazz? Not at all.

For the most part, Orange has little to do with free jazz, although the opening fragment, "Golden Falcons," might tease one's thoughts in the direction of Ornette Coleman (Greika doubles here on trumpet) by way of blood-curdling shred a la Charles Tyler. Peterson's ride cymbal is infectious and Greika's muted brass follows the lineage of a bent bebopper. Track Listing: Golden Falcons; Om Shanti; The Liquid Nature Of; And Then She Appeared in the Midst of Chaos; Peace; Release From; Sad Joy; Broccoli; The Jamel Voice; Sunset Beyond the Safety; Subway Over the Rainbow. Personnel: Paul Flaherty: alto saxophone, voice; bells; Barry Greika: electric guitar, trumpet, fife; Bob Laramie: electric bass; Glen "Hobbit" Peterson: drums and steel drums; Dan Flaherty: bongos; Dave Flaherty: cow bell, claves and steel drums.

In the Midst of Lions was a Christian deathcore band from St. Louis, Missouri. They have three full-length album releases: Out Of Darkness, The Heart of Man and Shadows. The name of the band pertains to a biblical scripture in Psalms 57:4. In the Midst of Lions originated from the St. Louis music scene.

In the Midst of Chaos was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8. Kassandra helped Demosthenes to recover Spartan seals. Kassandra: I'll get you your seals. Demosthenes: Thank you. Kassandra: First, I have some questions. If players choose "Who do you admire?"). Kassandra: Who does a general like you look up to? Demosthenes: You know who was a true hero? Kassandra: I'm guessing you're about to tell me.
