No Hassle is Tosca’s fifth studio album, and their most beautiful musical statement so far. A luxurious tapestry of analogue and digital sounds, submerged samples and live instruments, it evolves and expands into an hour-long ambient symphony. The title reflects not only the duo’s laidback approach to making music but their whole philosophy of life. No Hassle is all about contemplation and concentration. While recent Tosca releases like .

the issues that plagued both producers and listeners. Dorfmeister's Tosca project with Rupert Huber remained relatively consistent, although without a full-length of new productions in quite a few years. No Hassle, then, arrived at just the right time. The sound isn't a surprise at all, with watery grooves, soft keyboards, and, early on, an inconstant use of backbeat.

No Hassle is the fifth studio album by Austrian downtempo, trip-hop duo Tosca, released by Studio !K7 in 2009. The album was "conceived as a single seamless sea of sound. No Hassle includes no featured vocal tracks, and instead marks Tosca's return to vocal samples and the "use of the voice as an instrument" last heard on the 2000 album Suzuki. The cover contains a picture of Manhattan viewed from Long Island City, Queens.

No Hassle is the 2009 album by Viennese soundscape masters Tosca. Forefathers of the nu-Balearic/cosmic scene of artists; Richard Dorfmeister (also one half of Kruder & Dorfmeister) and Rupert Huber have produced their most magical and mesmerizing album yet. A luxurious tapestry of analogue and digital sounds, submerged samples and live instruments; No Hassle evolves and expands into an hour-long ambient symphony. The title reflects not only the duo's laidback approach to making music but their whole philosophy of life.

Bad pressing especialy C/D sides, C1, D1, D2 are full of static noise & scratches. *A reminder to myself:never buy again RSD issues, no matter how rare or ltd the editions are. At least 80% of them turn out to be completely crappy pressings.

Just played mine through, sounds perfect, no static or scratches so there are some good ones out there. Got mine at Rough Trade East (London) on the day, maybe they had a decent batch.

Unfortunately, I have to add my report of a mis-press that causes static on tracks C1 and D1. It's just too bad, because this album is stunning, quite a masterpiece I think. My favorite Tosca! The static mars some of the really beautiful quiet parts of C1 pretty badly. It's not unlistenable, the statics are short, just a bummer as this is my favorite track on the album. D1 is not so bad, but I also heard a couple faint statics on D2. If it weren't for these pressing errors, this would be a reference album. Errors aside, it's a really nice master and press. Big, clean bass, and shimmery, smooth dreamy highs—what I love Tosca for. Disc one is perfect for me. I have to say though, I'm psyched for this release overall and am super-glad I have it. I'd buy another copy if I thought I could get one without the errors.

Side C, track 1 has a lot of kind of scratch noises from the middle of the track, same for side D track 1 and also some distortion on this track. Anyone having these problems?Really disappointin :(
Asyasya
mine is full of crackle - side c track one - really disappointing as you say...
Bloodhammer
Non fill noises in my copy too. . . .

I have wanted a copy of the original pressing for quite some time, needless to say, I was immensely elated when the news broke this was getting a special release. By far one of my favorite downtempo/dub albums. Love Kruder and Dorfmeister, love Peace Orchestra, love Tosca..No Hassle is just hands down amazing, this pressing was done quite well; really clean, defined, deep, and powerful. If you can find a copy get it, no regrets. [EDIT] There does seem to be some pressing issues on disc 2. I had attributed it to still some residual factory grime but after multiple cleanings, there are still some slight areas of static. On my copy, it is only a few times, for a very minute period of time, on track c1 and d1. This does not negatively affect my playing experience of this release though, it is not a constant occurrence on mine.

After cleaning more and playing those specific tracks more, what I thought was just stubborn factory dust, it does seem there may be some pressing defects. For my release though, it doesn't seem to be as bad as they are making it out to be. But yes, the same issue is on mine in some magnitude.
Unnis
Comment above indicates issues with the pressing, all good on your copy?

Gorgeous pressing of a great album. Lovely deep blue colour of the vinyl as well.

This is a fabulous album! Both the depth of the music, and the excellent recording and mastering. I second overboy's opinion, I'd love a proper 2xLP version of this album, because MY favorite track, Elektra Bregenz isn't on the wax either. I'd pre-order that puppy.

Tosca ‎– No Hassle, Record Store Day 2019... 2LP Gatefold and seems to have 4 additionnal Tracks.

Great work. I think the album deserves a proper 2xLP issue to include pieces unavailable on original LP, such as "Fondue", one of my favorites on the whole album. I seen everything!

> Maybe there'll be a wider release on black vinyl later. It's possible but I'm skeptical. Usually the pressings that get black vinyl releases after RSD initial release are listed as "RSD First" and this one's listed as "RSD Limited Run / Regional Focus Release" which means it's probably going to be a one-and-done thing.I wouldn't sleep on this release.

I too am excited to pick up this release, and hope my local record store can order it. It's unclear whether there will be 500 copies worldwide or 500 in each country participating in RSD. I wouldn't expect many stores to get more than two or three copies. Maybe there'll be a wider release on black vinyl later. It would be a shame to cut a new master for such a limited pressing.

Wish granted: https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/10928 "This exclusive Record Store Day Version sees the album pressed on 2LP blue vinyl in a gatefold sleeve and includes 4 additional tracks that didn't make the original 1LP pressing."Only bad part is, I had to call my record store because it's local-release, a lot of the distributors that the RSD shops buy from aren't carrying it, but if you ask nicely the bigger stores should be able to order a copy or two. I'm super excited about this release and will probably be camping out on record store day for the first time rather than just showing up after the line goes down like I normally do.

Absolutely. This album is a downtempo masterclass and anything other than a gatefold reissue is selling it short. Hell, throw in the live mix and make it 4 LP's
Lost Python
The version of No Hassle available on itunes has an additional track 'Pink Synth' unavailable anywhere else.Pity is a Lossy format.

Make no mistake: this is the return of the original Stone groove. Improved subconscious dynamics, catchy but subdued, like fine wine. Let it play and you'll find yourself coming back, late night, nothing else will do. And oh yeah, vinyl is perfect for this album, sonically, and to adjust the grooves to your liking. A unique album in that a range of tempos can suit many of the tracks well, according to your mood: sounds very much like what Tosca stated they meant to accomplish with this album. Enjoy.

True headz know what's what. Return of the Stone groove, nothing less. This vinyl's getting love for a good reason. Throw on your best cans, lay down the eyes, hear for yourself.

Well, the title is certainly apt. It's definitely no hassle to listen to this album. Whereas Tosca's previous effort was riveting, this one barely rises above the level of background music.
