Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, California. Their initial popularity was, in part, due to being considered the antithesis of the glam rock bands of the time, and their 1987 'Appetite For Destruction' became the biggest selling debut album in history. The band was founded by W. Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin', along with Tracii Guns, Rob Gardner and Ole Beich, with Axl Rose being the only constant member throughout the band's history.

And I think that was just from a collective high energy from where we were at that time. It wasn’t intentional, the speed. Unless it was - I’m trying to think.
It may surprise some to realize that Guns N' Roses released only four full-length original albums, and two of those debuted simultaneously. But they were enough to forever change rock 'n' roll. Even more shocking is that one of the great bands in rock history, with it's last studio album issued 10 years ago, has never had a "best of" compilation. Now it has. There's no shortage of ideas from everybody involved," said the guitarist. But we've been so busy on the road there hasn't really been time to go in and sit down and go, 'Okay, we're going to make a record.
