Crowbar is the second studio album by New Orleans sludge metal band Crowbar, released on October 12, 1993. The album sold 100,000 copies on the now defunct independent label Pavement Music. The singles "All I Had (I Gave)" and "Existence Is Punishment" were played on MTV and received international attention. Crowbar was produced by Phil Anselmo, a childhood friend of Crowbar's founder Kirk Windstein and the singer of Pantera, and recorded in New Orleans in 1992.

The best album by Crowbar is Odd Fellows Rest which is ranked number 15,445 in the overall greatest album chart with a total rank score of 86. Crowbar is ranked number 6,488 in the overall artist rankings with a total rank score of 114. Product Details.

Crowbar, ‘Symmetry in Black’. Time Heals Nothing goes the title of the Nola sludge-core heavyweights' landmark 1995 slab, a phrase that bandleader Kirk Windstein has lived out over Crowbar's 25 years and 100-plus doomy anthems. The seventh album from Oregon doom metal sky-gazers Yob - a mere four tracks that just eke just past the hour mark - makes perfect bedfellows of volume and beauty, pain and transcendence. And during the colossal closer "Marrow" - possibly the best metal song of the year, one that uses low notes to play uplifting melodies - Scheidt sings "Time will fall inside the dream. His voice suddenly reaches out like a clarion's call, clear and telling and beautiful.

Title: TBA Release Date: TBA NOLA sludgecore titans Crowbar celebrated the 20th anniversary of their resounding heavy late-Nineties opus Odd Fellows Rest in 2018 by playing the album in full on select dates. Fans can only hope that certified riff master Kirk Windstein's experience revisiting the seminal record will brush off on the songwriting for his band's next outing, but even if it doesn't, expect plenty of sonic excess and glorious suffering. Title: Strength in Numb333rs Release Date: January 18 Hot off a 2019 Grammy nom, one of the best music videos of 2018 and some of the most acrobatic, high-octane gigs this side of Dillinger Escape Plan, the Fever 333 - featuring current and former members of letlive. the Chariot and Night Verses - are ready to bring their political rap-rock in.

Creating the perfect live album might be one of the hardest things a band can do in their career. Having watched them countless times since the mid-nineties, I think this live banger perfectly captures the mood and talent of these NOLA kings.

The New Orleans sludge metal scene of the 1990's is home to some of metal's most consistent music. Acid Bath's morbid, chaotic pair of albums are cult classics. Eyehategod and Soilent Green are still floating around on a solid and successful formula of heavy riffs mixed with a southern blues tone. The album's three best tracks come right out of the gate. Conquering" is one of the album's faster songs, but about halfway through slows to a crawl over a triumphant call of "I choose to die my own way!" "Like Broken Glass" brings an incredibly thick, inhuman riff that drags you into the album's primary atmosphere-a feeling of being dragged through a swamp by a slow-moving beast. It also has a chorus that will stick in your head for days.

Crowbar’s subsequent self-titled album in 1993 and Time Heals Nothing in 1995, were issued by the new label, the former of which earned national promotion on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball. After the release of Time Heals Nothing Nunenmacher left the group, and was replaced by Jimmy Bower for the albums Broken Glass in 1996 and Odd Fellows Rest in 1998. Choosing to focus on his other project Eyehategod, Bower left shortly after and was replaced by Sid Montz who recorded drums on 2000’s Equilibrium. For their finale, they played a mash up of some of their hits, and it was mind blowing. They were shouting out to us in the audience, and it was great to be so involved with the end of the show.
